Mary Lynly is a Life Member and Hall of Fame member of California WBA and the Foothill WBA. Her involvement in bowling has been significant on the local, state and national level.
Mary has been a bowling advocate since her first league nearly 56 years ago. She began her administrative involvement as a league secretary and president and after working to help form the Foothill Women's Bowling Association in 1964, became its charter secretary and later President and is a Life Member and member of their Hall of Fame.
She helped open Camino Bowl in Mountain View where she worked in promotion and teaching and was even a partner in a dress shop called Action Fashions which catered to active women and, of course bowlers!
In 1968 Mary became a member of the California WBA board of directors and served as 3rd, 2nd and 1st vice president prior to becoming president in 1990.
She has won numerous writing awards which include the National Women Bowling Writers Herta Kissel Memorial Award for the "best of the best" and a similar award from the CWBA Nugget Award's committee, the Lucelle Ware Memorial Award.
She has been married to husband Paul for 50 years and has one son John who lives with wife Brenda in New Jersey. They all bowl, Paul and John wear 300 rings and Mary is still working on that. Mary & Paul have lived in Roseville for the last 19 years.
