Barbara is married to Ernie (Red) Metzinger - "Most of her life," she says, and the mother of four grown children plus grandkids and even a few great-grandkids and currently employed by the State of California.

Through it all, she has served bowling on the local level in leagues and reached the Presidency of the Sacramento Women's Bowling Association and Hostess Chairman of the state tournament more than once. She ascended to a Director of the California WBA and eventually First Vice President prior to the recent merger.

Serving on a committee is one thing, but Barbara has chaired most committees and doesn't know the meaning of not doing the job to the best of her ability. If Barbara does it you can be sure there is communication and all the T's are crossed and i's dotted. She is creative and innovative and second to none when it comes to promoting bowling or anything involved in it.
